Historic Highway Marker Dedication Ceremony

The NC Historic Highway Marker Commission and the NC Office of Archives and History have completed the marker for Greensboro’s Polio Hospital and it is scheduled to be installed on June 15th! The marker will be placed along Wendover Ave, a state highway very close to the original hospital’s site, and we are ready to celebrate!

A dedication ceremony for the installation of the marker will be held at 3 pm on Saturday, June 15th at the original hospital’s site, now the location of People and Paws 4 Hope, at 710 Huffine Mill Road, Greensboro, NC 27405. The dedication ceremony will feature a few speakers from UNCG and others who have been involved in the project throughout the past two years. We are delighted to invite the Guilford County community to attend this dedication ceremony and commemorate the far-reaching impact of the Central Carolina Convalescent Hospital! We hope to see you there!
